Jerome “ROBrooks

Actor, Model, Entrepreneur, born in Baltimore, Md. Brooks knew from an early age that he wanted to embark on an acting career. Brooks’ introduction to success in the entertainment industry started in 1990 when he performed at “Showtime at the Apollo”, where his rap group won his competition and took home the prize for a year. His first acting role came in an independent film called “Serenity’, directed by Chris Robinson. In 2002, Brooks had the starring role in another independent movie called “Dead Man’s Journey” produced by Elijah Kelly. Brooks’ national acting debut was as an extra in the movie “Meteor Man”. This experience helped him to recognize his passion for acting, while realizing that his dream was starting to become a reality. To Brooks, pursuing an acting career gives him the opportunity to experience the recreating of another person and living in an imaginary world of a character and making it real. Brooks approach to acting is to relax, interpret the character and recognize the power and conflict behind the dialogue. This is the unique ability that he brought to Charm City, a dramatic television series. Brooks agreed to participate in Charm City, produced by a Baltimore Production Company, to hone his skills, pursue his aspirations and showcase his acting abilities as a lead character. Brooks hope Charm City will be a breakthrough role which will launch his career as a talented young actor. He hopes his performance will get him recognition and lead to more acting jobs. Brooks sees himself as a visionary with a personality that fits the Hollywood mode. He is motivated by his desire and hunger to be a great actor.

Other accomplishments include appearances on Homicide, HBO “The Wire” and critically acclaimed “The Corner”, all shot in Baltimore. Brooks also appears in and has directed several music videos. He has appeared in commercials, done voice- over and choreography. Other memorable moments include working (as a reader at auditions) with Quentin Tarentino while he was casting for “Kill Bill”. Brooks is currently working on two films in production, “Soul Child” where he plays a manager of an R&B artist, directed by Elijah Kelly, and “All Saints” as an undercover cop.

Although acting has become his priority, Brooks is extremely hard working and ambitious. At present he wears many different hats. First and foremast he is a great father and son, and successful businessman. He owns and runs a record store, distributes “The Hook Up”, a national magazine and is involved in the day to day running of a management Company “Lights Out Entertainment”

When not acting or working, his interests include spending quality time with his family, going to the movies and playing basketball.
