Aquil “Q” Oseitutu
Actor. Born April 26,1980. As a youngster growing up in Baltimore, Aquil was dubbed class clown, because he was always joking around and entertaining his friends. By the time he was 15 years Aquil knew that he wanted to be a “Star”. Aquil’s inspiration came from watching Martin Lawrence taking comedy to the limit, and how Lawrence took his comedic ability to the big screen. Aquil spent his early years been carefree and unproductive, but a personal tragedy in 1999 had a sobering effect. He realized how “short life was”, and that it was time to go after what he wanted. He needed to concentrate on his chosen path, and focus on a career. Encouraged by his brother who is also an actor, Aquil sees acting as an avenue to “channel his energy into something positive”. Aquil fondly remembers his first foray into the acting arena, as a child, performing in the play “Tom Sawyer”, at The Arena Players when he was in 7th grade. In January, 2004, Aquil had a recurring role in a Soap Opera titled “Vixens” produced by MPT. His first major role came in 2004, when he was cast as one of the lead characters in “Charm City” a television series, directed by Derick Thomas. Aquil’s jovial disposition, his positive attitude and work ethics made him a pleasure to work with. His ability to bring life to every role, and the fact that he is such a quick study were unique attributes that he brought to the set of Charm City. Aquil hopes that Charm City will be a breakthrough role for him and gives him the opportunity to showcase his acting skills. At present, he is auditioning for other acting roles in Baltimore and New York. Aquil is involved in live comedy performances, at the 5 Seasons Club in Baltimore, where he performs his act twice per month, before huge crowds. When not spending time with his daughter, he likes to play baseball and go to the movies. |
